Where Vitiligo Becomes A Blessing!
The causes of vitiligo are not completely understood yet, but they seem to be a mixture of genetic and environmental factors. People with a particular combination of genes are more likely than others to develop vitiligo, but it is not only due to heredity.
The development of vitiligo may be triggered by such factors as:
Hormonal changes in the body, for example during adolescence.
Damage to the skin, for example from a cut or sunburn.
Contact with certain chemicals.
Vitiligo Awareness International does not invest in any researches or treatments for the skin condition vitiligo. This charity foundation and platform aims to providing help to people with vitiligo in seeing the beauty of the skin condition by creating and sharing positive content as wel as offering mental support. In this way the foundation supports people along their way to acceptance and self-love.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT VAI
"I was never exposed to any prejudices as a child. This actually came when my children started to grow up.
Only as a mother did i have to find out what it means to be teased for my skin. The upbringing of my children is based on the diversity on our planet of all species and human beings. This should be a very important educational aspect of our future.
For this reason working with an organization like Vitiligo Awareness International is very important to me."
